The Inner World is the Gateway to the Universe
In the new universe, the separation of organic and inorganic disappears. The new world is beyond ethnicity. We are the creators of the new world.

When we encounter objects–even those that seem broken or lifeless–we bring them into our inner world and give them life.

We must have the courage to see what is hidden from us, and what it is painful to see.

Until we change our inner world, we cannot change the universe.

Junko Chodos is a contemporary artist born and educated in Japan and residing in the United States since 1968. Her works represent a wide variety of techniques and styles, ranging from pencil, pen, and mixed media collage, to works done with acrylic, charcoal, and collages of computer prints on mylar.
Chodos describes her art as "Centripetal." That term is borrowed from physics: centripetal force is the force that tends to impel a thing or parts of a thing inward towards the center of rotation. The main characteristic of Centripetal Art is the passion to reach the center of the self, the inner world, which is the gateway to the whole universe. In that place, people can go beyond the barriers of ethnicity, gender, religious denominations, dogma, and of confined ideas of blood and soil.
